So, the initial estimates that the baby would likely not come until this evening have been dramatically amended due to a flurry of activity. A series of tightly spaced, severe contractions and an examination revealed that "things" have moved along significantly since midnight. I will spare the details but the nurse and doctor now feel we should get to meet Jack before noon!!
Baniela has been incredible. She has managed the extreme pain with the toughness and grace that all of us close to her knew she would. The epidural has now been administered and Baniela is resting comfortably with Merita by her side. I am off to D&D for some coffee. Amazingly, considering how incredible this place (HUMC) is, you can't get your hands on a cup of coffee until 6:00am. Stay tuned...
