Out of the NICU and in with Mom and Dad!!

Jack displayed his fine eating skills to the NICU staff today, a trait he undoubtedly inherited from his father. As a result Jack was discharged from Intensive Care and able to, finally, join Mom and Dad in their room. Baby Jack will have blood drawn around 4am tomorrow morning and tests done to determine his bilirubin score. Based on the test results, the doctors will decide whether or not he needs to be placed "under the lights" for jaundice. The nurses have told us the best way to avoid the lights is through lots and lots of pooping. If that is the main criteria, so far I like his chances!

Jack meets his biggest fan, cousin Emma.

Swaddle, anyone?

Mom keeps progressing nicely as well. She had been quite slow in getting up and down since Tuesday. However, when Jack spit up after a good feeding in the NICU she was able to pull off a double-reverse 180 degree triple axel from the wheelchair while grabbing a cloth and wiping the baby's mouth, all in one graceful motion. It was impressive.

Jack gives his opinion on the Giants chances to beat the Eagles this weekend.

Do all two day old babies hold their bottles and feed themselves? Seriously, do they?

"...then, Jack, Brad Lidge threw another devastating slider, fell to his knees and raised his arms to the sky..."

  3. He's so talented with that bottle! Must be that he's wearing his hat, his favorite hat, and that's why he's able to do stuff at 2 days old that most babies wait much longer to do! Everyone looks so great! Love to all!
